Halloween How To Tutorial: Deranged

Posted by Tiana Regan

Halloween is the season to let your freak flag fly high. Every year, Maniology looks forward to all the strange, creepy, and horrific ideas created by you.

We've had the pleasure of collaborating again with the creative and talented Lexa, better known as Glitterfingersss to her blog and social fans. Known for her incredibly detailed and hand drawn nail art designs, Lexa has spent years spreading her love of art and creativity with the world. Recently, we released her latest bone-chilling collaborative nail stamping plate, M159. Using her nail plate, she created this bright and deranged manicure for you to recreate and share. We hope you enjoy it!

Step-by-Step Tutorial: Deranged

Step 1:

Paint your complete nail using Food Fight.

Step 2:

With plate M159, pick up the drip design with darker green polish, Dusty.

Step 3:

Pick up and stamp the broken claw image using Straight Up Black. Wait for the image to dry before you start your reverse stamping.

Step 4:

With a thin detail brush and your favorite pink and slime green color, paint the finger and claw. Be sure to lightly dot the polish and not drag. This technique will help to keep all the details on the stamped design without smudging.

Step 5:

While you wait for your claw image to dry, lightly paint Sticky Base Coat over the middle of your nail and wait for the base coat to be tacky (about 45 seconds to 1 minute). Stamp your claw design to the middle of the nail. Seal your design with Smudge-Free top coat.

Please share your recreated design of Deranged with us on Instagram at @hellomaniology #hellomaniology. We'd love to see them!
