Glittery gradients, neon water marbling, and flawless reverse stamping designs--these are just a few things that come to mind when we think of Clairestelle8! We've always wondered about the gal behind those beautiful nails, and we were fortunate enough to get an inside peek into her creative mind. Is it always rainbows and sunshine for Claire O'Sullivan? Or is she actually an emotional sap like us? Read on to find out!

What inspired you to come up with your designs?
I created a collaboration plate with Clear Jelly Stamper last year with the theme: Best of British but this is my first collaboration with Maniology, and this time I wanted to go in a completely new direction. A lot of stamping plates are packed with individual images that I struggle to put together in one mani. I wanted to create a stamping plate that did a bit of the thinking work for you when you want to put a mani together at the end of a long day, but can't be bothered to think too much about it! So I thought a few ready-made scenes answered that difficulty. And at the end of a long hard day I want to transport myself to a magical 'otherworld' so fairies, unicorns and a Game of Thrones inspired scene had to be included!
2. When you thought about the designs on the plate, did you feel like designs like yours were missing in nail art?
Nothing makes me happier in nail art than a beautiful gradient and I thought how lovely it would be to have a stamping plate that complements that; which is how I came up with the idea of 'sunsets and silhouettes'. It gives the opportunity to go to town creating explosions of colour behind beautiful silhouettes.
3. Do you have any other creative hobbies outside of nail art?
I write a lot and have aspirations to be the next JK Rowling! #wishfulthinking
4. What is a nail art design that you keep going back to?
I keep making resolutions to take a break from gradients and appreciate an individual polish....and then a sponge and ten colours seem to land on my nails...
5. Anything else you'd like to say to our readers?
I'm absolutely thrilled and thankful to be working with such a creative and inspiring company such as Maniology. They have been incredibly patient with me throughout the process, so supportive in bringing my ideas to life! I hope everyone enjoys the plate as much as I did creating it.

1. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds. They are a girl's best friend! Well, after nail polish...and chocolate of course.
2. Heels or flats? Heels because I still haven't come to terms with the fact that I'm not supermodel tall so I take every opportunity I can to pretend.
3. Pilates or yoga? Yoga
4. Jogging or swimming? Neither. I've not been gifted with a particularly attractive running style and I can't swim, but I do a lot of boxercise, barré and aerobics.
5. Best way to de-stress? I am a sucker for all things 'new age-y' so reiki, crystal healing, aromatherapy all help balance my solar plexus!
6. If you had one superpower, what would it be? To be able to understand and follow Ikea assembly instructions.
7. What’s the weirdest word in the English language? Pulchritude. I'm not sure it's the weirdest word but it's always fascinated me that it means great physical beauty but sounds quite the opposite! So don't be too offended if someone comments on the pulchritude of your face!
8. What’s your favorite flower? Ooh snowdrops I think. They're a little promise of spring in the deepest midwinter.
9. When was the last time you cried? Probably half an hour ago. I cry more than anyone else I know. An advert for cat food can leave me sobbing.
10. Do you like your handwriting? It could be neater. It's nearly as messy as I am!
11. Do you bake? No. And the world should be very grateful.
12. What are you listening to right now? Don't Call Me Up by Mabel
13. Favorite smell? Ooh bonfires on an autumn evening, salty sea air, the earth after it's just been raining.
14. A sport you wish you could play? Every year around Wimbledon time I convince myself I have a hidden talent for tennis just waiting to be discovered. Every year I realize I am mistaken.
15. Hair color? Blonde
16. Eye color? Bluey green
17. Scary film or happy endings? I don't mind so long as Tom Hardy is in it...
18. Favorite season? Honestly I think every season has its special magic: autumn leaves, spring flowers, beach sunsets and CHRISTMAS!
19. Three people alive or dead that you would like to have dinner with? David Bowie will do for me. I wouldn't want to share him with anyone else.
